On Thursday, the makers of Rio Raj's Ram in Leela announced the film's release date. The release date announcement came a day after the makers unveiled the film's second single 'Seppusela'.
Directed by debutant Ramachandran Kannan, the romantic entertainer has newcomer Vartika playing the female lead. The film wrapped filming back in March. The film also stars Munishkanth, Chetan, Deepa Venkat, Malavika Avinash, and Nayana Elza, among others. While plot details are not yet disclosed, the film is expected to revolve around the highs and lows of a relationship and the everyday chaos of living with a partner.
On the technical team, Ram in Leela has music by Ankit Menon, cinematography by Mallikarjun, and editing by YNC Shiva. The film is backed by R Ravindran and Sudharsan. Trident Arts and Eywa Entertainment are the banners backing the film. The film is scheduled to open in theatres on August 21.
Upon its release, the film will clash with Modha Rathri, starring Rishikanth and Anishma Anilkumar, at the box office, while Elan's sophomore Pyaar Prema Kalyanam, also starring Saanve Megghanna, is set to premiere on Netflix on the same day. The release is scheduled a week after Suriya's Vishwanath and Sons, Kavin's Hi and Vishal's Magudam.
