Universe Star Studios has officially launched its maiden production with a pooja ceremony held in Chennai on Tuesday. The yet-to-be-titled film will mark the directorial debut of Madhan Durai, who previously worked as a writer on Vijay TV's comedy shows Adhu Idhu Edhu and Kalakka Povadhu Yaaru, besides serving as an associate director on Sixer and Sattam En Kaiyil.
The film stars Muthukumar, Pugazh, Sendrayan, Ramar, Sarath, Ajay Raj and Pavel Navageethan in key roles. It is billed as a dark comedy, with principal photography set to commence in September.
The film was formally launched in the presence of RSSS Pictures founder S Thanigai Vel and social activist Madichiyam A Karthik, who attended the ceremony as chief guests. Members of the film fraternity, friends of the team and media personnel were also present at the event.
The technical crew includes cinematographer PG Muthiah, composer MS Jones Rupert, production designer Dinesh Kumar and stunt choreographer Ganesh R Kumaresan has been signed on as the production executive. The makers are expected to reveal the film's title and additional details, including further updates on the project, in the coming weeks.
