After winning over audiences' hearts with roles in director Suresh Rajakumari and Vikram Prabhu's Sirai and Ken Karunaas' Youth, Anishma Anilkumar is gearing up for the release of her third Tamil film. Titled Modha Rathiri, the upcoming film is written and directed by Raja Karuppasamy and also stars Rishikanth in a lead role. It is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner.
Ahead of the film's August 21 release, the makers dropped a new poster earlier this Tuesday that introduces Anishma's character as Muthuselvi. Dropping the poster, Mythri Movie Makers wrote in the caption, "Meet 'Muthuselvi' as the 'Adakamana, Amaithiyana Manaponnu' in Modha Rathiri." The makers described her character as being a soft and graceful bride.
Billed as a rural comedy drama, Modha Rathiri follows the events after an unusual wedding. What starts as a fresh step in life spirals into something chaotic, turning the first night into an even bigger life-changing event for the couple.
The film also stars Chetan, A Venkatesh, Bagavathi Perumal, Abdool Lee, Shelly Kishore, Sangeetha Balan, Banupriya, Sumithra Devi L, Varshini Karmegham, Karthikeyan, Velan, and Kowshik Kabilan.
It brings the major Telugu cinema banner Mythri Movie Makers back to Tamil cinema after Good Bad Ugly, starring Ajith Kumar, and the Pradeep Ranganathan-Mamitha Baiju film Dude. "You're cordially invited to witness the chaos," wrote Mythri Movie Makers as it announced the release date for the film earlier this July.
The film's technical team includes cinematographer Surendran Paranjothi, editor Ashok Arjunan, and composer Bharath Sankar.
Coming back to Anishma Anilkumar, the actor made her debut with a role in 2023's Poovan, co-starring Antony Varghese and Sajin Cherukayil. She gained more prominence with a role in director Girish AD's I Am Kathalan, opposite Naslen, before earning critical acclaim with Sirai.
