Actor Suriya, who is currently awaiting the release of Vishwanath & Sons, recently reflected on his memories with industry veteran and producer Radikaa Sarathkumar and her constant support throughout his career. For the unversed, the duo share screen in the upcoming Venky Atluri directorial as mother and son.
Expressing his gratitude for standing beside him and his brother and fellow actor Karthi, Suriya recalled a timely help from the Thaai Kizhavi actor that he remembers till today. "Radikaa akka is not here with us today at the event, but we have so many memories and experiences with her. In fact, if we go back in time, she acted in some of my films without remuneration. She needn't have done that, but she did it, which was great," he recollected during the audio launch of his upcoming film.
He further went on to share a memory with Karthi as well. "When Karthi was to travel to the US, we had to show a particular bank account balance to meet certain visa requirements. We weren't financially strong at that time. Radikaa akka, who was working with my father during those years, gave us that money, asking us to hold the money in our bank until Karthi gets admitted into the college. Similarly, we have many memories and emotions that we share with her," he added.
For the unversed, Suriya and Radikaa have worked together in films like Sandhippoma (1998), Uyirile Kalanthathu (2000) and Singam 3 (2017) while Karthi has shared screen space with her in Saguni (2012).
Vishwanath & Sons tells the story of Suriya as Sanjay Vishwanath (a take on his character from Ghajini), an ace pistol shooter in his 40s, holding fort to retain his agility and focus. When Maddy (Mamitha Baiju), a young woman in her 20s arrives into his life, all hell breaks loose. Maddy falls head over heels in love with Sanjay despite his pushback, citing their age gap. The film is expected to revolve around their May-December love story and how it changes their lives.
Besides Suriya, Mamitha Biju and Radikaa, the film also stars Raveena Tandon, Nasser, Sudha, Raghu Babu, Sunil Reddy, Bhavani Sri, Viva Harsha, Kaali Venkat, George Maryan, Hyper Aadhi, Srija Ravi, Sarvadaman Banerjee, Mathew Varghese, Kalyani Natarajan, Karate Karthik, and Master Charvik. Vishwanath & Sons is slated for an August 14 release in theatres worldwide.
