The Michael Jackson biopic, starring the iconic musician's nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the lead role, continues to shatter box office records, even as it has opened in theatres to mostly negative reviews from critics. Recently, many actors from Indian cinema, including Anupam Kher and Revathy, appreciated the film and paid their tributes to the King of Pop. The latest to show her appreciation for director Antoine Fuqua's Michael is actor Nadiya.

The actor took to her social media and posted one picture where she tries to recreate Michael Jackson's lean dance, made famous by his song 'Smooth Criminal', and another where she imitates one of his hip dance steps. Sharing the lean pose picture against an MJ portrait in the background, Nadiya wrote, "Tried the lean!!!," followed by a smiley emoticon. She also wrote, "Sharing fun pics as we celebrate the King of Pop "MICHAEL" the film on the big screen... Pure nostalgia in every beat."

Revathy says she was "taken back to the '80s" after watching Michael: 'He's a true artist'

Regarding the film, the actor wrote, "Congrats to the whole team for bringing back our growing up years." She reserved special praise for Jaafar Jackson, calling his performance in the film 'outstanding'.

For the unversed, the film follows Michael Jackson's life and career, from his involvement in Jackson 5, his band, in the 1960s to his solo performances at the start of his career. Jackson is among the most important personalities in the world of arts and entertainment in terms of cultural impact.

Days into its release, Michael became the highest-grossing opening for a musical biopic at the global box office, breaking the previous record held by Straight Outta Compton. Since then, it has earned more than $210 million from theatres worldwide.
