On Monday, actor and director Ken Karunaas took to X to share a photo of himself with director-actor Rishab Shetty and pen a note of gratitude for having gotten the opportunity to meet him.
Ken Karunaas, known for his performance in films like Asuran and Vaathi, recently made his directorial debut with Youth, which was a commercial success and also opened to positive reviews. The film recently had its OTT premiere on Netflix.
Sharing the photo with Rishab Shetty, Ken wrote, "Met Rishab Shetty, sir… and something inside me just said, 'You can make it; keep going.' Thank you, "Youth", for making my dreams come true. Kadavuluku nandri [Thank you, God]." (sic)
The meeting between Rishab and Ken comes a week after the former penned a detailed review of the film on X, praising the latter. "After a long time, I found myself smiling throughout an entire film. #Youth is filled with love, friendship, and deep emotions — a heartfelt tribute dedicated to all parents. Single-handedly writing, directing and acting with such nuanced depth is truly commendable. Every actor is brought to life so naturally on screen. #SurajVenjaramoodu sir, #DevaDarshini ma’am, and the entire friends' gang are an absolute joy to watch," he wrote in the long note.
Ken's Youth, which hit theatres on March 19, also stars Anishma Anilkumar, Meenakshi Dinesh, Devadarshini, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Priyanshi Yadav, amongst an ensemble of up-and-coming actors. It told the story of Praveen (Ken), an adolescent at 15 who is determined to find his one true love before school comes to an end. As he goes through relationships and breakups, he understands the real meaning of love.
Rishab, who last helmed and starred in the blockbuster hit, Kantara: Chapter 1, is currently working on Jai Hanuman, helmed by Prasanth Varma. The project, which commenced shooting after the muhurath at Anjandri Betta, is progressing at a brisk pace. Richab is expected to begin filming in May and is presently engaged in look tests and other pre-production preparations.
