The audio launch event for the highly anticipated Suriya starrer Karuppu is happening in Madurai this evening. Earlier this Sunday, the film's director RJ Balaji said that he has been seeing videos of Suriya's fans travelling from different parts of the state to Madurai for the marquee event. RJ Balaji, who also has a cameo role in the upcoming film, revealed that Sai Abhyankkar is set to perform multiple songs from it at the Karuppu Audio Launch.
Meanwhile, Sai Abhyankkar posted about the upcoming event on social media to build further anticipation around the upcoming film. Taking to X, Sai suggested that he will perform an extended version of the song 'Verappa' and one more 'new extremely special song' at the Karuppu Audio Launch.
However, the filmmaker appeared to contradict Sai, saying that the 'Verappa Extended' version will not be released through the audio launch today. "This is because it will be the last song from the film to be released. However, this evening, we will release another song, which is special for those who believe in and revere Karuppuswamy not just in Madurai but elsewhere. It is a very special song also for all of us here in the team," the actor-filmmaker signed off.
Appearing on video on social media earlier today, RJ Balaji said that there will not be any live streaming for the audio launch event either. "Do not tell me this evening that it has not come on any channel, because this is not one such event. It will come to ZEE Tamil and Galatta on a later date, but you will know what is happening (at the audio launch) through social media," the filmmaker-actor revealed.
Slated for a May 14 release, Karuppu also stars Trisha, Indrans, Natty, Mansoor Ali Khan, Swasika, Sshivadha, Anagha Maya Ravi, and Supreeth Reddy, among others.
