Recently, we reported about Pari Elavazhagan starring in the lead role of an upcoming film titled Anbe Diana, also written and directed by him. Recently, the actor-filmmaker spoke about some of his co-stars in the film, which marks his second directorial venture.
Anbe Diana brings the director-actor back together with Chetan after 2024's Jama, his directorial debut. Recently, the actor-filmmaker said that Anbe Diana features Chetan in a role that is completely opposite to what he portrayed in Jama. The filmmaker said, as quoted by Ananda Vikatan, "I have teamed up with Chetan sir again with this film. In Jama, we have seen him play an extremely serious character, but in this film, he has done a very lively and fun role. I wish that Chetan sir gains a much bigger place in Tamil cinema; he truly deserves it!"
On the other hand, Pari Elavazhagan said that the upcoming film stars Gopi Aravind of Parithabangal fame as Bengaluru Baba. The filmmaker-actor revealed that the character has a comic flair reminiscent of what Gopi does for Parithabangal. He also commended his co-star's ability in comic roles. "They say there is a gap for comedy actors in Tamil cinema—I believe Parithabangal Gopi will fill that space," the actor-filmmaker said.
Anbe Diana stars Pari Elavazhagan as Chirumamilla Sita Krishna, also known as CSK. It revolves around the character and his chaotic family based in Perambur. The upcoming film also features Ramya Ranganathan as Chirumamilla Sita Krishna's lover, Roja Selvamani and Chetan as his parents, Nikhila Sankar as his sister, and Gopi Aravind as his brother, among others.
The upcoming film is produced by Yuvaraj Ganesan of Million Dollar Studios in association with Sathya Karikalan of Neo Castle Creations. With principal photography for the film being wrapped, it is expected to release soon in theatres.
