

Actor Suraj Venjaramoodu, who was recently seen in Ken Karunaas' Youth, has starred in a pivotal role in Dhanush starrer Kara. During the pre-release event of the film, Suraj praised Dhanush.
In his speech, Suraj said that Dhanush won many awards for Kara. He, who is sharing screen space with Dhanush for the first time, said he shares a connection with the actor. "During my initial days, I went for a show and saw someone who was dressed as Kadhal Konden Dhanush, and the superstar-level response he got made me realise his popularity."
Veteran filmmaker KS Ravikumar, who also stars in the film, said that he, like many others, is a fan of Dhanush. "You have gone to a world level. We were planning to work on a film, but unfortunately it did not materialise," he said, praising Dhanush's Tere Ishk Mein, Ravikumar said, "Irrespective of whether the film's story worked for me, your performance was outstanding."
The cast of Kara also includes Mamitha Baiju, Karunaas, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, MS Bhaskar, and Sreeja Ravi, among others.
GV Prakash Kumar is composing music for Kara, continuing his collaboration with Dhanush after Idli Kadai (2025). Yuga Bharathi and Asal Kolaar have written the lyrics. The film’s crew also includes Theni Eswar as the director of photography, Sreejith Sarang as the editor, Mayapandi as the art director, and Dinesh Kasi as the action director.
Kara is written by director Vignesh along with Alfred Prakash. Ishari K Ganesh is producing the film under his Vels Film International banner, along with Kushmitha Ganesh as the co-producer. Kara is releasing worldwide on April 30.
