Filmmaker-actor Pradeep Ranganathan, who will be seen in the upcoming sci-fi romance Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), shared how deeply the film and the director Vignesh Shivan are connected to his life.
Speaking at a pre-release event of the film, Pradeep said he watched Naanum Rowdy Dhaan while studying in college with his ex-girlfriend. "She lived in Bangalore, and I travelled there to watch the film for FDFS with her. We enjoyed the film a lot. Then fast-forward to Love Today, Vignesh Shivan sir called me for an opportunity for a futuristic film. I felt ' Enna Vaazhka Da'. And then when he said he would use Anirudh's single 'Enakena Yaarum Illaye' in the film, that felt like another 'Enna Vaazhka Da' moment as I used to sing this song to my ex."
LIK is set during 2040, where an app, before two people meet and get to know each other, determines the match by maintaining a database for everyone and tracking the activities. How the app comes in the way of the two leads, played by Pradeep and Krithi Shetty, is what the film is about. The film also stars Gouri Kishan, Yogi Babu, Seeman, Shah Ra, Malavika, Mysskin, Anandaraj, and Sunil Reddy, among others.
Music composer Anirudh once again reunites with director Vignesh for LIK. The crew of the film also includes Ravi Varman as the director of photography, Pradeep E Ragav as the editor, T Muthuraj as the production designer, and Peter Hein as the stunt choreographer.
Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are producing LIK under their Rowdy Pictures, along with SS Lalit Kumar, who backs the film under his Seven Screen Studio banner. The film faced several postponements in the release date, with it finally set for a theatrical debut on April 10.
