Director Vetri Maaran has been involved in the production of Arasan, his next film with Silambarasan TR and Vijay Sethupathi, among others. The film has a variation of a screenplay that he wrote for Vada Chennai when Silambarasan TR was in talks to star in the 2018 film, starring Dhanush.

Meanwhile, earlier this Sunday, dubbing artist and actor Shammy Thilakan's son Abhimanyu, also an actor, shared a photograph featuring him with Vetri Maaran. "From admiring his films to sharing a conversation with Vetrimaaran sir. Life comes full circle in unexpected ways. Grateful for this moment and for what lies ahead," Abhimanyu Shammy Thilakan wrote.

The actor did not reveal the specifics of his conversation with the filmmaker. However, his words, "for what lies ahead," hints that he spoke to the director over a role in one of his upcoming films, potentially Arasan. However, it is worth noting that the film's producer is yet to confirm any such development.

For the uninitiated, Abhimanyu is best known for his performance in director Haneef Adeni's violent action film Marco, starring Unni Mukundan in the lead role. He played one of the many antagonists in the gratuitously violent actioner.

Coming back to Vetri Maaran, the filmmaker's last film, Viduthalai Part 2, released in December 2024. On the other hand, Arasan is expected to have a November release in theatres.
