Railway Protection Force has booked a case against Mansoor Ali Khan, who is contesting in Lalgudi, Tiruchirappalli, for lying on a railway track in the middle of his election campaign. The actor faces charges for trespassing in the railway line, causing obstruction and indecent behaviour. According a report from The Hindu, he has been booked by Railway Protection Force as per sections 147 and 145 (b) of the Railways Act 1989.

Last Tuesday, Monsoor Ali Khan lied on the track adjacent to Palanganatham Railway Station in Kallakudi before an RPF officer came to the spot and had him taken away from there. The track is known for an anti-Hindi imposition protest led by M Karunanidhi that dates back to 1953, when the late politician and erstwhile Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu faced an attack.

Justifying his actions, the actor said that the track reminded him of the former CM's protest and that he did it as part of a reenactment of the revolutionary measure in his campaign.

The actor-politician is contesting in the aforementioned constituency as an independent candidate and filed his electoral nomination documentation last Monday. Meanwhile, he is living in the location as part of his election campaign, going from one residence to another.

On the film front, he was most recently seen in director Murali Krish's film Karuppu Pulsar, co-starring VR Dinesh, Reshma Venkatesh, and Madhunika, among others.
