Ahead of its release on Wednesday, the makers of Dhanush's Idli Kadai dropped the stills.
The stills featured actors set to play crucial roles in the film, including the leads Dhanush and Nithya Menen, along with Arun Vijay and Sathyaraj. The makers had earlier released the trailer of the film, which follows Murugan (Dhanush) attempting to revive his father's eatery in his village, with Ashwin (Arun Vijay) determined to derail his plans. Only the film can answer what the factor is that pits them against each other.
Idli Kadai, Dhanush's fourth directorial after Pa Paandi, Raayan, and Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, also stars Rajkiran, Geetha Kailasam, Samuthirakani, Parthiban, and Shalini Pandey. On the acting front, Dhanush, last seen in Kuberaa, has his kitty full with films from multiple languages, such as Tere Ishk Mein, D54, and late president and scientist Abdul Kalam's biopic, Kalam: The Missile Man of India.
Dhanush's home banner, Wunderbar Studios, is producing the drama along with Aakash Bhaskaran of Dawn Pictures. Dhanush's frequent collaborator, GV Prakash, who recently worked with him on Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, is the music composer for the film. The film's cinematography is managed by Kiran Koushik, with editing by Prasanna GK.
Idli Kadai will release alongside Rishab Shetty's Kantara: Chapter 1.
