Earlier, we reported about R Madhavan playing engineer Gopalswamy Doraiswamy Naidu in a biopic titled GDN. In the latest update, the film has entered its second production schedule in India. Madhavan dropped the update through his Instagram Stories with a poster for the film and writing, "Seeking all prayers as we gear up for our second Indian schedule." Krishnakumar Ramakumar, who helmed the recent Rudra-Mithila Palkar starrer Oho Enthan Baby, is directing the film from his own screenplay. The film also stars Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, Dushara Vijayan, and Yogi Babu, among others.
Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan are producing the film under Varghese's namesake banner, alongside Madhavan and his wife Sarita of Tricolour Films. The four producers reunite for the film after their collaboration on the Nambi Narayanan biopic, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. Production on the film started in an international location before it entered its first schedule in India earlier this year.
The technical team of GDN includes creative producer and cinematographer Aravind Kamalanathan and composer Govind Vasantha. In a recent interaction with CE, producer Vijay spoke about the importance of the story. "GD Naidu’s personality was incredibly inspiring—his resilience, his firm beliefs, and his unwavering stance on his decisions. He was staunchly against bribery, deeply patriotic, and a man of immense strength. He never wavered, never budged, and stood his ground no matter what. His sheer presence was remarkable. It’s not just about the life he led but the kind of person he was—truly unique."
