Following the success of director Chella Ayyavu's Gatta Kusthi, actor Vishnu Vishal, in recent times, had recently announced in an event that he will reunite with the director for the sequel.
The makers, on Tuesday, dropped the promo video for the film. In a fun-filled glimpse, the producer of the film, Ishari K Ganesh of the Vels Film International, doubts the possibility of a second part and is convinced by Vishnu Vishal.
Gatta Kusthi 2 has Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi returning as the lead characters. Also in the returning cast are Karunas, Munishkanth and Kaali Venkat.
The first part was about a seemingly demure housewife of Vishnu Vishal, in a village bound by traditional patriarchal norms. However, as things start getting tough for Vishnu's Veera, Keerthi (Aishwarya Lekshmi) reveals her true nature, that of a trained wrestler. What this revelation brings into their marriage, and can it be saved both from internal friction and external forces forms the core of the film.
Gatta Kusthi 2's technical crew comprises cinematographer KM Bhaskaran, music composer Sean Roldan, editor Barath Vikraman, and art director S Jayachandran.
