There has been some talk about who will be the director of Rajinikanth's next film with Kamal Haasan. Even as there is plenty of speculation, Valaipechu has made a major claim. According to Valaipechu, Nelson will direct the film, which it says will mark Rajinikanth's departure from cinema. Reportedly, the film will go on floors only next year, as Nelson requires more time to write the screenplay for it. There is also some buzz among cinephiles that Kamal Haasan's banner Raaj Kamal Films International will announce its involvement in a project with director Sundar C and Rajinikanth on November 07, Kamal's birthday. According to reports, RKFI is also producing the film starring Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan, making it Rajinikanth's second consecutive project with the banner.
Details about the genre of the Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan film are also not out in the public, although there are reports suggesting that it will be a gangster film. The film is set to mark their reunion after 1979's IV Sasi directorial, Alavuddinum Athbutha Vilakkum.
An official confirmation about either of these projects is still pending. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth has completed the Kerala portions for Jailer 2, his film with Nelson. Recently, the actor disclosed that the film, a sequel to his 2023 film Jailer, will hit theatres on June 12 next year.
