

Varsha Bharath's comedy drama, Bad Girl, is all set to premiere on JioHotstar on November. The film, which was Varsha's directorial debut, released in theatres on September 5.
The film premiered in Rotterdam, Netherlands, where it went on to win the NETPAC (Network for Promotion of Asian Cinema) Award. After releasing in Tamil in multiple regions, the Hindi dubbed version of the film was released on September 26. The film was backed by Vetri Maaran under his Grass Roots Film Company banner, with Anurag Kashyap as the presenter.
A few days before the film's release Vetri Maaran announced that he would be shutting down his Grass Roots Film Company banner, with Bad Girl being the last release.
Anjali Sivaraman leads the cast of Bad Girl, which also includes Hridhu Haroon, TeeJay Arunasalam, Saranya Ravichandran, Shanthi Priya, and Sashank Bommireddipalli. Anjali made her debut with Netflix's Class, which is an adaptation of the streamer's own Spanish drama Elite.
The film was also the Tamil debut of noted music composer Amit Trivedi, who primarily works on Hindi films.
