The Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju starrer Dude minted 95 crore from theatres worldwide over its first five days of release, announced the film's producer Mythri Movie Makers earlier today. At the recent event where the cast and crew expressed their gratitude to the public for making Dude a success, director Keerthiswaran said that the numbers signify the public's acceptance of the film. Keerthiswaran also expressed his gratitude to the audience for making his debut directorial a memorable one. The film has sparked a debate among people about the relevance of its themes. The director said that the film's message is not new for Tamil Nadu and that it is passed on from elders in the state. He also promised to keep trying to make films with such messages in an entertaining way going forward. "That is my assurance," Keerthiswaran revealed

Actors Sarathkumar, Rohini, Neha Shetty, and Hridhu Haroon also spoke about the film at the "Thanks Giving" event in Chennai. Dude hit theatres alongside Mari Selvaraj-Dhruv Vikram's Bison and Harish Kalyan-Athulya Ravi's Diesel, among other films. In India alone, the film has grossed more than 50 crore from theatres. Keerthiswaran said that he expects the film's global box office collection to cross 100 crore tomorrow.
