Recently, Harish Kalyan revealed that there were question marks over the 'eligibility' of his film Diesel as a Diwali release. The actor, known for his roles in Parking and Lubber Pandhu, argued that a film with good content alone merits a Diwali release for a film. Now, Aaryan star Vishnu Vishal has weighed in on the matter. Speaking to Galatta, Vishnu said that as the film's lead actor and producer, he wanted a Diwali release for Aaryan, but it was a collective decision involving its streamer Netflix to push it to October 31 instead. "It was a joint decision. Earlier, the discussions regarding this only involved distributor and producer. Now, satellite and OTT have become part of it as well. A decision can only made with everyone's consensus."
The actor went on to add that today's audiences do not differentiate films as 'small', 'medium' or 'big'. He argued, "Nobody knows which film will become a massive hit," citing the unexpected level of success for Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, Tourist Family, Kudumbasthan, and Manjummel Boys. "Did some big films have as much success as you thought?" he rhetorically said. "So how can we decide which film should release on Diwali and which one should not?"
