
Actor Ken Karunaas is turning director with a new venture, as the makers made the announcement recently, that Ken will also write and star in the film. Ken was recently seen in Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai: Part 2.
A short video was released by the makers which hinted at the story having a school as the setting. This continues a recurring theme of education, from Ken's recent films Asuran (2019), Vaathi (2023), and Viduthalai: Part 2 (2024). The upcoming film is produced by Karuppiah C Ram, Sulochana Kumar, and Kali Rajkumar. Paarvathaa Entertainments and Street Boy Studios are producing the film, tentaively dubbed Production No 1.
Ken is the son of actor Karunaas and singer Grace. He shot to fame as the naive Chidambaram, in Vetri Maaran's Asuran, which starred Dhanush in the lead as Sivasami, Chidambaram's father. Manju Warrier, Pasupathi, and Teejay Arunasalam also starred in the film. He collaborated with Dhanush again on Venky Atluri's Vaathi (2023). In Viduthalai: Part 2, he appears in a flashback as a man from the oppressed caste who faces a grave misfortune.
The makers of Ken's upcoming directorial also teased another update for the film, which is to be released on October 18.
