Actor Dhruv Vikram, who is awaiting the Diwali release of Bison, his film with director Mari Selvaraj, recently spoke about his iconic actor father's influence on him. Speaking to Sudhir Srinivasan about Vikram's struggles to become an actor following his leg injury, Dhruv said that he would think about the former while doing "physically demanding" scenes. Dhruv shared that Vikram once told him that while he has done an action sequence involving a car in the Veera Dheera Sooran climax without a body double, he advised Dhruv not to do the same for the latter's lack of experience. In Bison, Dhruv plays a kabaddi player, a role that required tremendous physical effort from him. The actor has done many stunt sequences in the upcoming film, also starring Anupama Parameswaran in the female lead. He revealed in the interview that Vikram has asked him why he would do such scenes, knowing the risks that it entails.

In many stages, Vikram has told the inspirational story of how he overcame a severe leg injury. Vikram's doctor once recommended amputation, considering the severity of his injury, but the actor successfully dealt with it through physical therapy, sheer willpower, and so forth. Vikram's passion for acting contributed to him going against the prognosis of him not being able to walk again in life, driving him towards success.
