In order to strengthen Tamil cinema's "technical and creative capabilities," producer Ishari Ganesh and filmmaker AL Vijay came together to launch Vels – D Studio as a single-stop solution for all the technical needs of filmmakers.
It is said that the studio is designed with high-end cameras, editing suites, production equipment, sound and visual effects support, and outdoor units. The initiative promises to provide a "seamless and stress-free experience for directors, producers, and technicians."
Filmmaker AL Vijay said that this initiative comes at a crucial juncture of "Mumbai taking a lead ahead of Chennai in certain areas of filmmaking." He said, "Chennai has always been the heartbeat of Indian cinema. Over the years, I noticed how Mumbai was taking a lead in certain areas of filmmaking. That inspired me to create a world-class creative ecosystem here. Dr Ishari K. Ganesh sir, has been a lifelong inspiration. His discipline, leadership, and vision have always guided me throughout my journey. This partnership feels extremely special. Together, Vels – D Studio will become a centre of excellence for Tamil cinema.”
