We had earlier reported that actor Ajay Dhishan, who played an important role in actor-composer Vijay Antony's Maargan, will make his debut as the lead in Pookie.
In Maargan, Ajay played a swimmer gifted with astral projection, who is mysteriously tied to up to a serial killer.
The makers of the film, directed by Ganesh Chandra, announced that it will release in February 2026 and made its first single update. Titled 'Manasu Valikithu,' the song will be out on November 26 at 11 AM. Composed by Vijay Antony, who is also Ajay's uncle, he sings the song along with Kharesma. RK Dhanusha plays the female lead in the film, with Sunil playing a pivotal role.
The film, produced by Vijay Antony's wife, Fatima Vijay Antony, under Vijay Antony Film Corporation, is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
Vijay Antony had earlier announced that he will take up music composing for films not featuring him like before, owing to the response his songs are garnering in concerts, starting with Pookie. He, meanwhile, will next be seen in Joshua Sethuraman’s sophomore film, Lawyer.
