Director Keerthiswaran, who is basking in the success of his debut film Dude, starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Mamitha Baiju, has said there is a lot of filmmaking value in the commercial films made by Dharani.

In an interview with Maathevan, the director said that he was recently watching Dhill, and it was evident that Dharani worked hard not to have even a single dull moment in the film and kept surprising throughout the runtime. He also called placing a folk song 'Singam Pola', in the Dhool fight sequence as an aesthetic choice, and that such choices didn't find a place in Twitter and Facebook write-ups solely because such choices were in a commercial film.

He further added that every aspiring Tamil filmmaker should watch Dharani's Dhill, Dhool, and Ghilli, as a lot could be learnt about screenplay writing from those films.

Dude, which also starred Sarath Kumar, Rohini, Hridhu Haroon, and Dravid Selvam. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film's technical crew comprises music composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer Niketh Bommi, and editor Barath Vikraman.

The film turned out to be a huge box office success, surpassing Rs 100 crore worldwide, becoming the third consecutive film of Pradeep Ranganathan to reach the magical three-digit figure.
