The Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) decided on a minimum time for a theatrical run of a film before an OTT release. The decision was taken at the council's general body meeting on Sunday.

According to the mandate, films starring A-List actors will have to run in theatres for a minimum of 8 weeks before an OTT release. The mandate also mentioned that the films starring B-List actors, and so on, will have to run in theatres for a minimum of 6 weeks before an OTT release.

The council also passed a mandate through which it introduced a revenue sharing model for films starring A-List actors. The new model will have both actors and technicians sharing the profit and losses along with the producers.

The council also appealed to the Government of Tamil Nadu to take over the online booking functions of a film.
