It has been ten years of Demonte Colony. The Arulnithi-headlined horror film earned a cult status over the years with a sequel released last year. Celebrating the original film's tenth anniversary, director Ajay Gnanamuthu, who helmed both the parts of the film, took to his social media handles to announce that they are working hard to craft a "chilling, cinematic and unforgettabele theatrical experience" for the third part.

Gnanamuthu, also known for films like Imaikkaa Nodigal and Cobra, recalled the first time he stepped into the world of cinema. "Today, on the 10th anniversary of our first film Demonte Colony, I find myself overwhelmed with emotion, with gratitude, and with an enduring love for storytelling. It's surreal to look back and see how that first step turned into a journey filled with discovery, growth, and the relentless pursuit of craft," he wrote in his long note.

Explaining how he holds the Demonte Colony films close to his heart, he said, "Demonte Colony was more than just a film for me — it was the labour of love that I nurtured. Before I became a filmmaker, I was a fan." Gnanamuthu said that horror films like The Exorcist, The Conjuring and The Omen inspired him and made him "want to create a world of his own, to build a universe that could pay homage to the genre while standing on its own haunting feet."

He also thanked Mohana Movies' MK Tamilarasu, Arulnithi, and Sri Thenandal Films' Murali Ramasamy for helping him in the early days of his career. The director said an official news regarding the third part will be announced soon.

As earlier reported, the third part's returning cast features lead actors Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar with Muthukumar and Meenakshi Govindarajan in supporting roles. Sam CS returns as the music composer for the third installment.
