Following India’s Operation Sindoor, which hit nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, actor Rajinikanth took to his official X handle to extend his moral support and encouragement to the Indian army and the nation.
He wrote, “The fighter's fight begins... No stopping until the mission is accomplished! The entire NATION is with you. #OperationSindoor. JAI HIND” He also mentioned the handles of the offices of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The official statement from the Indian Defence Ministry on the operation reads, "A little while ago, the Indian armed forces launched 'Operation Sindoor', hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed. Altogether, nine sites have been attacked.”
The operation came as a response to the Pahalgam attack, which left over 26 civilians, mostly tourists, dead after five armed militants opened fire in Baisaran Valley. The Resistance Front (TRF), which is believed to be an offshoot of the Pakistan-based UN-designated terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, initially claimed responsibility.
Previously at the first World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in Mumbai, Rajinikanth took the mic to say, “He (PM Narendra Modi) is a fighter. He will meet any challenge and prove what we have been saying for the last decade, that he will face even this situation gracefully and bravely and bring peace in Kashmir and glory to our country.”
On the work front, Rajinikanth is currently awaiting the release of Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Also starring Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, Akkineni Nagarjuna, and Upendra in key roles, the film is slated to hit theatres on August 14.
