Actor Vijay's final film before his complete political plunge, Jana Nayagan, helmed by H Vinoth, has moved to Kodaikanal for the next leg of filming.
The actor, while leaving for Madurai, met the press at the Chennai airport to brief them about his itinerary. Vijay said the trip is not political, as was reported in certain media outlets and that he is going to Madurai and from there to Kodaikonal for the next schedule of Jana Nayagan.
Following a written statement from Vijay urging his fans and cadres to maintain discipline and stay safe days after certain fans were driving perilously to chase his van en route to Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's booth committee meeting in Coimbatore, the actor has reiterated to his fans in Madurai not to come after his van, as them putting themselves in harm's way concerns and bothers him. But he assured me that he will have a small meet and greet at the airport before he leaves for Kodaikanal.
He added that a political meeting of TVK will be held at Madurai at a later date soon.
Apart from Vijay, the film's ensemble cast includes Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, and Narain, alongside Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, and Teejay Arunasalam.
Jana Nayagan went on floors in October 2024. This marks the first collaboration of Bobby Deol, Priyamani, Mamitha, and Narain with Vijay in a feature film. The film also reunites Vijay with Prakash Raj after Varisu, Pooja Hegde after Beast, and Gautham Vasudev Menon after Leo.
On the technical front, Jana Nayagan features music composed by Anirudh, cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav, action choreography by Anl Arasu, art direction by Selva Kumar, and costumes designed by Pallavi Singh. The makers are yet to reveal further details about the plot.

The film will be released in theatres on January 9, 2026 for the Pongal festival season.
