Actor Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, which was expected to get a release this morning, was stalled due to a Delhi HC order regarding a plea filed by the film production company B4U. However, the film has successfully crossed the legal hurdle, and it is finally set for release this evening.
The film's director apologised in a video address to the fans who had been waiting to watch the film since morning and announced that all the issues had been sorted.
The litigation revolves around the Mumbai-based company alleging that the producers of Veera Dheera Sooran did not honour the contract that stated the film's digital rights would be sold before the release, but the release date announcement was made before the OTT rights were sold. The HC had earlier ordered the makers to deposit a sum of Rs 7 crore and furnish the necessary documents within 48 hours while also pushing the release by four weeks. As an amicable resolution has been arrived at, the interim stay preventing the film's release has been lifted.
The film's morning and afternoon shows had been cancelled in theatres as a result of the ongoing case, disappointing moviegoers and exhibitors across the country. All premiere shows scheduled in the US had also been cancelled.
Directed by SU Arun Kumar, the action thriller also stars SJ Suryah and Dushara Vijayan in key roles. The film also marks the Tamil debut of popular Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu.
Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 is the 62nd film in Vikram's career. The film has music by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Theni Eswar, editing by Prasanna GK, stunt choreography by Phoenix Prabu, and art direction by CS Balachandar. It is produced by Riya Shibu under the banner HR Pictures.
