Uncertainty lingers over the release of Vikram's Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2, as the Delhi High Court issued an interim order to stall the film's release on March 27.
Some reports suggest the order comes in the wake of the plea filed by Mumbai-based production company B4U seeking compensation from the film's producer for allegedly not honouring the contract of selling the OTT rights of the film before release. B4U claims that the makers of Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 announced that the film will be releasing on March 27 without selling the digital rights.
Observing the argument, the Delhi HC bench placed an interim stay on the film's release till 10:30 AM tomorrow. With the film expected to have its first show at 9, the legal complications encumber the release at least till 11 AM tomorrow. The shows of the film are expected to be screened after 11 subject to resolving of this case.
Directed by SU Arun Kumar, the action thriller also stars SJ Suryah and Dushara Vijayan in key roles. The film also marks the Tamil debut of popular Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramoodu.
With the second part of the film scheduled to release before the first, it remains to be seen what Kaali's actions are and how they are connected to his past, as much of the plot and the characters' motives remain undisclosed.
Veera Dheera Sooran Part 2 is the 62nd film in Vikram's career. The film has music by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Theni Eswar, editing by Prasanna GK, stunt choreography by Phoenix Prabu, and art direction by CS Balachandar. It is produced by Riya Shibu under the banner HR Pictures.
