Adhik Ravichandran on Good Bad Ugly: I thought I was unfit to direct Ajith

With the Ajith Kumar starrer Good Bad Ugly slated for a release on April 10, the director of the film, Adhik Ravichandran, opened up on how he himself didn't see him as capable of directing a star like Ajith Kumar.

In his recent interview with the Tamil magazine Ananda Vikatan, the director said that going by his body of work, he asked him whether he is fit to direct Ajith Kumar and told him that he is not. He, however, added, "I was amazed at how Ajith sir makes his judgement. He infuses hope in a lot of young directors like me. I decided to prepare myself enough to helm his film. So when he decides to hand me such a responsibility, it is only natural that the responsibility in me increases."

He went on to say that the film is as emotional as how much massy it is. "Good Bad Ugly is about the bond between a father and son. Their emotional bond drives the film's story. The family audience too has a lot of relatable elements in a film," he said, adding, "Ajith sir never considered himself a larger than life star but just an actor. He contributes to his role more than something I expect him to do."

Good Bad Ugly also stars Trisha, Arjun Das, Shine Tom Chacko, BS Avinash of KGF fame, Prabhu, Prasanna, Rahul Dev, Yogi Babu, and Sunil.

Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, the film has music by GV Prakash, who last collaborated with Ajith in Kireedam (2007). On the technical front, it also has cinematographer Abinadhan Ramanujam and editor Vijay Velukutty. Details about the film's plot are kept under wraps.

The film is set for a theatrical release on April 10. Ajith was last seen in director Magizh Thirumeni's Vidaamuyarchi, which was released on February 6.
