Sasikumar to headline a rooted family drama

It was recently announced that Sasikumar's next, with debut filmmaker Guru M, has gone all floors. The yet-to-be-titled film also stars Sathyaraj and Bharath in prominent roles. Having worked as an assistant to Nandhan-fame Era Saravanan, Guru reveals he was keen on making his debut with Sasikumar. However, the director reveals that the film naturally demanded an actor like Sasikumar. He says, "If you've seen Sasikumar sir's films, they all revolve around rooted characters with intense emotions." Guru further reveals that his upcoming film is a "rooted family drama with intense action."

Introducing Megha Shetty and Malavika in prominent roles, the ensemble cast of the film also includes MS Bhaskar, Aadukalam Naren, Saravanan, Karuppu, Indumathi, and Joe Mallori. On how he crafted the characters, Guru says, "I created the story based on the amazing people I've met in my life. The film is about rooted, good people, the kind of people we would talk about even long after they pass away." However, the director assures us that the film has plenty of action and intense drama. "The film has no villains, and it is about good virtuous people, but even good people go through tough times, and that fuels the conflict in the story," he says. On how director-actor Sasikumar reacted upon listening to the story, Guru recounts, "After listening to my narration, he didn't say anything to me, but I heard he spoke to Saravanan sir for hours afterwards, praising the story. As someone who was in awe of his films, it gave me immense confidence. I am truly honoured to gain the support and confidence of people like Sasikumar sir and Saravanan sir."

With plans to complete the film in the next two months, the production is currently underway in locations in and around Pattukottai. The film is backed by Zambara Entertainment, with Dharmaraj Veluchamy producing the film alongside Vijayakumar. The technical crew of the film comprises SR Satheesh Kumar as the cinematographer and NR Raghunanthan as the composer. The makers are expected to reveal the title in the next few weeks.
