The upcoming film Phoenix, marking the directorial debut of stunt choreographer Anl Arasu and starring Vijay Sethupathi's son Surya Sethupathi in his first film, had its trailer launch today. The event saw the presence of many notable film personalities, including director H Vinoth and Vijay Sethupathi himself. In his speech, H Vinoth said, "It takes ten films for a hero to become an action hero; Surya got that opportunity in the first film itself. He has put in plenty of hard work for that." The filmmaker went on to extend his best wishes to Surya Sethupathi and said that the film would be a big success.
Vinoth also praised the film's composer Sam CS, who he said will work with him on his next film. Produced by Rajalakshmy and Anl Arasu, Phoenix also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Devadharshini, Sampath, Muthukumar, Ajay Ghosh, Dilipan, Harish Uththaman, Abhinakshathra, Moonar Ramesh, Varsha, Rishi, Naveen, Murugadas, Sreejith Ravi, Nandha Saravanan, Vignesh, and Aadukalam Naren. The film has cinematography by Velraj, editing by Praveen KL, and stunt choreography by Anl Arasu himself. Phoenix is slated for a July 04 release in theatres worldwide.
Meanwhile, H Vinoth is waiting for the release of Jana Nayagan, starring Vijay in reportedly his final film before his foray into politics. It is worth noting that the film, also starring Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol in key roles, has music by Anirudh.
