As the clock struck 12 on June 22, the makers of Jana Nayagan released a short video for the film on the occasion of actor Vijay's birthday. The film is produced by Venkat K Narayana under his KVN Productions banner.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, the producer said, “Working with Thalapathy Vijay on his final film is not just a professional milestone — it’s a deeply personal honour." He added, "As fans ourselves, we know how much this film means to millions across the world. The ‘First Roar’ is just a glimpse into the cinematic and emotional scale of what we’re building.”
Actor Vijay is stepping into the world of politics, with Jana Nayagan being his final film. On the actor's legacy, producer Venkat said, “We’re crafting a film that does justice to Thalapathy’s extraordinary journey. Jana Nayagan is not just a farewell, but it’s a celebration of an icon who changed the face of Indian cinema.”
The rest of the cast of the film includes Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Mamitha Baiju.
Jana Nayagan is written and directed by H Vinoth, whose previous ventures include Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. Anirudh Ravichandar has composed the music for the film, with Arivu writing the lyrics. The rest of the crew of Jana Nayagan includes Sathyan Sooryan as the director of photography, Pradeep E Ragav as the editor, V Selvakumar as the production designer, with Anl Arasu handling stunts.
The film is slated for a Pongal release on January 9, 2026.
