Actor Silambarasan TR has come forward with a generous gesture, offering financial assistance to the family of stunt artist Mohan Raj, who tragically lost his life during a stunt gone wrong on the sets of Pa Ranjith's Vettuvam. The revelation was made by veteran stunt choreographer Stunt Silva in a recent interview.

According to Silva, Silambarasan contacted him the day after the incident and handed over a cheque for a substantial sum, requesting that it be given to Mohan Raj’s family. “He didn’t want any publicity about it,” Silva said, adding that Silambarasan is known in the industry for his quiet acts of charity and compassion.

Mohan Raj, a respected figure in the stunt community, died while performing a car stunt for Vettuvam, a film backed by filmmaker Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions. The tragic accident, which occurred in Tamil Nadu’s Nagapattinam district on July 13, sent shockwaves through the Tamil film fraternity.

In a heartfelt statement, Neelam Productions expressed their grief: “Our heart is broken for his wife, children, family, and all who knew and loved Mohan Raj Anna as a colleague and a friend.” The production house noted that every safety protocol had been followed, under the supervision of stunt director Dilip Subbarayan. Despite the precautions, the tragedy unfolded.

Remembering Mohan Raj as a skilled and respected professional, the statement continued, “He was a veteran whose planning, clarity, and execution we all relied on. That we lost such a talent in spite of all preparations is deeply painful.”

Director Pa Ranjith also shared the production house’s condolence message on social media, mourning the loss of what he described as not just an exceptional stuntman, but a kind and graceful human being.

Neelam Productions added, “He wanted to be remembered for his work as a fabulous stunt artist, and that’s how he will always stay in our memory.”
