Dulquer Salmaan took to his Instagram Stories to provide his fans and followers with a strong recommendation to watch the recent Vikram Prabhu starrer Love Maarriage. He also lauded his longtime friend Vikram's performance in the film, saying his "brother hits it out of the park once again !!!"
The Shanmuga Priyan directorial follows a man (Vikram Prabhu) who is going through an arranged marriage, navigating the pressure that comes with it alongside his family. In a recent interview with CE, director Shanmuga called it an entertainer with a blend of family drama and romantic comedy elements. The film also stars Sushmitha Bhat of Dominic and the Ladies' Purse fame in her Tamil debut, opposite Vikram.
In CE's review of the film, Avinash Ramachandran wrote, "Love Marriage is held together by likeable and earnest performances, especially from the leads — Vikram Prabhu, Sushmitha, and Meenakshi — who make do with the superficial nature of their roles. Once again, Love Marriage isn’t trying too hard or pushing an agenda down our throats."
Usually, film personalities meet while working on films and become close friends gradually during a long period. However, Dulquer and Vikram's friendship happened elsewhere. Dulquer met Vikram at acting school and befriended him over time. Back in the day, Dulquer revealed that he had to call his father Mammootty to learn that Vikram is actor Prabhu's son. The two actors are yet to collaborate on a film. In 2019, there were news reports about Dulquer and Vikram starring in a JD Jerry directorial, but the project failed to materialise.
