Some of director Mysskin's remarks at a recent press event for the Guru Somasundaram starrer Bottle Radha courted controversy. The Anjaathe filmmaker used swear words in his speech at the event, as well as suggesting that Ilaiyaraaja's music is a factor in people's habitual drinking. Some people in the film fraternity took objection to Mysskin's comments, and the filmmaker apologised at a press event for the film Bad Girl. Now, Bottle Radha star Guru Somasundaram himself has put out an Instagram post, where he thanks Mysskin for making him promote a film of his for the first time and addresses the filmmaker's apology.
In a long post where he promotes himself and his film about alcoholism, as well as praises his co-star Sanchana Natarajan and director Dhinakaran Sivalingam, the actor wrote, "I usually act in movies and go for promotional programs come back and prefer to sleep. This is my first time I'm writing on my own to promote my movie and of course me. Thanks to director Mysskin." Guru then added, "I watched his (Mysskin's) apologising video last night and it resonates with me a lot for various reasons."
Bottle Radha hit theatres on January 24, and it also stars John Vijay and Lollu Sabha Maaran. On the other hand, Mysskin has Train, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Narain, and the long-delayed Pisaasu II in the pipeline.
