Following their back-to-back successful collaborations in Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai and Asuran, Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are set to join hands once again for a new project. The makers of Viduthalai 2 announced the news while celebrating the success of their latest film. The upcoming film will mark the fifth collaboration between the director and actor and will be the Vetrimaaran's ninth directorial venture. The yet-to-be-titled project is described as an "unforgettable cinematic experience" and will be bankrolled by RS Infotainment, the production team behind Viduthalai 2.
Additionally RS Infotainment has also announced that they will be producing Soori's upcoming project after Viduthalai 2. The film will be directed by Mathimaran Pugazhenthi. The debutant has been a vital part of Vetrimaaran's team and contributed significantly to the success of the Viduthalai series.
Additional details regarding the two films are yet to be announced by the makers.
Dhanush, who was last seen in Raayan last year, is awaiting the release of his third and fourth directorial venture: Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam and Idli Kadai. While the former has a bunch of youngsters on the cast including Pavish, Anikha Surendran, Priya Prakash Varrier, and Mathew Thomas, among others, with Dhanush handling just the directorial responsibilities, Idli Kadai will have him in the lead role with Nithya Menen and Rajkiran also part of the film
Meanwhile, Soori is awaiting the release of Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, directed by Ram, following its screening in festival circuits. He is also filming for Maaman with Aishwarya Lekshmi, directed by Prasanth Pandiyaraj of Vilangu web series-fame.
