Actor Vinay Rai, who plays a significant role in Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi's upcoming romantic drama Kadhalikka Neramillai, shared a humorous anecdote about his on-set experience with cinematographer Gavemic Ary during the film’s pre-release event.

In a playful tone, Vinay recalled, “Gavemic tortured me a lot during the shoot. I have a habit of touching the camera and bowing to it before every scene as a sign of respect. But on this set, every time I went looking for the camera, it was either too high or too far away! One day, I was trying to reach it when I noticed Gavemic standing behind me with a mischievous grin—it was his doing all along!”

Despite the jest, Vinay was full of praise for Gavemic’s work, adding, “Jokes apart, Gavemic has captured the visuals of this film beautifully. His work will truly stand out.”

Reflecting on the film, Vinay revealed that this was his first time collaborating with a woman director. “I rely heavily on my directors, and working with Kiruthiga was a new experience for me. She has done a fantastic job, and the energy on set was amazing because of her leadership,” he said, addressing the audience before turning to Kiruthiga and adding, “The positive vibe on set was all thanks to you.”

Vinay also hinted at the film’s layered narrative, describing it as more than just a rom-com. “People might think this is a romantic comedy, but there’s more to it. Kiruthiga has woven several socially relevant themes into the story. Whether it’s Ravi’s character, Nithya’s character, mine, or even Yogi Babu’s, each one addresses a different social issue. It’s similar to how the late comedian Vivek would use humor to shed light on societal matters. Kiruthiga has done something equally meaningful and subtle in this film.”

Kadhalikka Neramillai features Nithya Menen and Jayam Ravi in the lead roles, supported by an ensemble cast that includes Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, TJ Banu, John Kokken, Lal, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Singer Mano, Vinothini, and Rohaan Singh.

With music by A.R. Rahman, cinematography by Gavemic Ary, editing by Lawrence Kishore, and choreography by Shobi Paulraj, Sandy, and Leelavathi, the film is set to be a visual and emotional treat. Produced by Red Giant Movies, this romantic drama is scheduled for release on January 14.
