Director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, known for her distinct storytelling, is all set to unveil her romantic drama Kadhalikka Neramillai on January 14. Speaking at the pre-release event, Kiruthiga emphasised the importance of actors stepping out of their comfort zones to embrace challenging roles, which she believes fuels creativity and inspires directors to craft unique characters.

“A lot of actors are hesitant to take risks,” Kiruthiga remarked. “As an actor, you shouldn’t be afraid. You might fail; it might not work out. But if you don’t try, directors won’t be free to write diverse characters.”

She specifically praised Vinay Rai, who plays a pivotal role in the film. Reflecting on her initial discussion with him, she said, “When I narrated the script to Vinay, he paused for a moment and asked, ‘Kiru... will this be okay? Will I be typecast after this film?’ I told him, ‘We need to break certain stereotypes in society and normalize things.’ His response was, ‘I completely trust you.’ From that point on, he didn’t question anything—not the footage, not the process. That’s what makes him a great actor—his willingness to experiment.”

Interestingly, Vinay wasn’t the first choice for the role, as Kiruthiga revealed. “I approached two other actors before him, and they were hesitant too. But Vinay’s courage and trust in me have allowed this character to come to life. He’s given me the scope to explore something new,” she added, expressing her gratitude.

The event also saw Kiruthiga applauding the entire cast and crew of Kadhalikka Neramillai. Featuring Nithya Menen and Jayam Ravi in lead roles, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Yogi Babu, TJ Banu, John Kokken, Lal, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Singer Mano, Vinothini, and Rohaan Singh.

The technical team behind the movie is equally impressive. With music composed by the legendary A.R. Rahman, cinematography helmed by Gavemic Ary, and editing by Lawrence Kishore, Kadhalikka Neramillai promises a visual and auditory treat. Choreography is handled by Shobi Paulraj, Sandy, and Leelavathi.

Produced under the Red Giant Movies banner, the film is set to explore themes of love, societal norms, and personal growth.
