After a long wait, the makers of DNA starring Atharvaa and Nimisha Sajayan, have released the trailer of the film which sets stage for an intense drama.
The almost two-minute-long trailer opens with a poignant quote, "In the heart of the wicked, the voice of evil, echoes aloud." It then goes on to show Atharvaa's character as an alcoholic. Nimisha Sajayan's Divya seems to be getting dressed to meet a prospective groom while her mother advices her to not stare, or laugh at unnecessary moments. While this might crack one up, it is further revealed that Divya might be facing a psychological or a mental health issue. Although it has not been revealed, Divya and Atharvaa's character get married. An incident shakes the couple and Atharvaa is on the hunt for the accused. He supports Divya and trusts her instincts. The plot details of the film are still under wraps, but DNA promises a thrilling drama with lots of edge-of-the-seat moments.
DNA is directed and written by Nelson Venkatesan, with Athisha Vino being the co-writer. Besides Atharvaa and Nimisha, Ramesh Thilak and Balaji Sakthivel play crucial roles in the film. Viji Chandrasekar, Chetan, Riythvika KP, Subramanian Siva, Karunakaran and Pasanga Sivakumar form the supporting cast.
The film went on floors in October 2023 and wrapped filming in July 2024. The makers are yet to lock a release date.
On the technical crew, DNA has cinematography by Parthiban, editing VJ Sabu Joseph, and stunt direction by Don Ashok. Singers Sathyaprakash, Sreekanth Hariharan, Pravin Saivi, Sahi Siva and Anal Akash have been have composed music for the songs. The film is bankrolled by Olympia Movies' Ambethkumar. A release date for DNA is yet to be revealed by the makers.
