Vishnu Varadhan's upcoming directorial, Nesippaya, starring debutant Akash Murali and Aditi Shankar in lead roles, has cleared censorship formalities with a U/A certificate. A romantic drama, the film is all set to hit theatres for Pongal.
The recently released trailer showcases glimpses of Arjun's (Akash) and Diya's (Aditi) relationship as they mature over the years. When they head towards a breakup, both of their lives fall apart as they deal with grief and agony. We also get to see Arjun's family and the relationship that he shares with them. It is also seemingly hinted that Arjun gets into some sort of trouble and struggles with balancing all sides of his life. Along with romance, the film promises equal amounts of action reminiscent of Vishnu Varadhan's signature style.
The film also stars Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Khushbu Sundar, Raja, Kalki Koechlin, and Shiv Panditt in prominent roles.
Nesippaya, which marks the director's tenth film, is backed by Xavier Britto of XB Film Creators, who previously made Vijay's Master in 2021.
The technical crew of Nesippaya comprises cinematographers Om Prakash and Cameron Bryson, along with editor Sreekar Prasad, production designer Saravanan Vasanth, and lyricist Pa Vijay. Romeo Pictures has acquired the distribution rights of the film in Tamil Nadu.
Upon release on January 14, the film is set to clash with Jayam Ravi-Nithya Menen's Kadhalikka Neramillai in theatres. Other films releasing for Pongal include Tharunam, Madraskaaran, Vanangaan, Madha Gaja Raja, as well as Game Changer.
