Ever since the release of Pradeep Ranganathan's latest film Dragon, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, the film has been receiving rave reviews and praise from audience as well as critics. Several celebrities have also joined the bandwagon to wish the director and actor for the success of the entertainer.
In that list, director Shankar too took to his X handle to share a few words on Dragon. In his post, the Game Changer director praised the film and wrote a one-liner about each of the main leads and their impact in the story. He called Dragon "a beautiful movie" and said that all the characters have a complete journey. "Pradeep Ranganathan showed us again that he’s a terrific entertainer and proved that he is a strong, soulful performer as well. Director Mysskin, Anupama Parameswaran and George Maryan gave performances that stay in your heart. All Gen-Z/millennial characters did very well!"
He added that he was moved to tears in the last 20 mins. "In a world with increasing number of cheats it’s a much needed message! Congrats to AGS production and the whole team!," he concluded.
Overwhelmed by the message, Pradeep wrote that he "never dreamt of getting these comments" from the director. "For a boy who grew up watching your films , being a fan who admired you, looked upto you...and you (my most favourite director) talking about me is nothing but an unbelievable dream. I can't express my feelings through words. Thankyou so much sir. I love you," he added.
Our CE review of the film reads, "Ashwath Marimuthu crafts an immensely enjoyable and relatable coming-of-age story of an extremely flawed individual who suffers with the repercussions of his shortcuts as he attempts to turn the tides to chart a triumphant story."
On the technical team, Dragon has music by Ashwath's Oh My Kadavule collaborator Leon James, cinematography by Niketh Bommi, and editing by Pradeep E Ragav.
