On her debut match in the Women's Premier League (WPL), Mumbai Indians cricket player Sajana Sajeevan, who came to the spotlight with her match-winning six of the last ball against the Delhi Capitals, shared how crucial actor Sivakarthikeyan's help was in pursuing her sporting career.
In her interview with ESPN Cricinfo, the Kerala sportswoman said how the 2018 floods ruined her family's livelihood and her passion. It is worth noting that Sajana played a minor role in actor Sivakarthikeyan's production debut Kanaa (2018) and had asked the actor's help to get her a spikes shoe ahead of the Challenger Trophy as her cricket kit got washed away along with her home.
Sajana said Sivakarthikeyan called her to ask if she needed some help. She told him, "I asked anna that my cricket kit is completely gone. I just need new spikes. Within one week I got new spikes. I also had to go for the Challenger Trophy at that time and everyone there would ask how my family was doing and I used to get tense." But she said that everyone was supportive and did their best to help.
Sajana also thanked Wayanad District Cricket Association (WDCA) and Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) for their continued support and added that is the reason for Wayanad producing several cricketers for the Indian team.
