In an unexpected and surprise announcement, Dhanush shares that actor Arun Vijay is a part of his fourth directorial Idly Kadai on Saturday.
Making an announcement with a special poster where Arun Vijay is seen as a boxer and Dhanush as a cornerman inside the ring. On the experience of working with him, Dhanush wrote, "Great to work with such a hard-working, dedicated and sincere actor."
While till now it was believed that Idly Kadai will be a simple man's humble journey in rural Tamil Nadu, this cast announcement and the poster convey that there is more to the film.
Apart from directing, Dhanush will also star in and co-produce Idly Kadai, which features Rajkiran, Nithya Menen and Samuthirakani in prominent roles. Further details about the extended cast and the plot are yet to be revealed. Judging by the old poster that the actor shared, it looks like he plays the owner of a humble eatery by the name of Sivanesan Idli Kadai.
Composer GV Prakash Kumar will reunite with Dhanush with Idly Kadai after their recent collaborations on Vaathi and Captain Miller and the upcoming film Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK). On the technical front, Idly Kadai also has cinematography by Kiran Koushik, editing by Prasanna GK, and production design by Jacki.
The film will be made collaboratively by Dawn Pictures, Red Giant Movies, and Wunderbar films. Aakash Baskaran and Dhanush are the producers, while Sreyas Srinivasan is the executive producer.
Idly Kadai will release in theatres on April 10, 2025, along with Ajith Kumar starrer Good Bad Ugly.
