Director Ameer conveyed his appreciation for Sirai, through a statement. The thriller, starring Suresh Rajakumari in the lead, was released on December 25.
"A film that has started a new chapter in the history of Tamil cinema," opened the statement. "The film excels with a new world, new faces, new dimensions."
Ameer congratulated writer Tamizh, director Suresh Rajakumari, and producer Lalit Kumar for their efforts in making the film.
Ameer also congratulated LK Akshay Kumar and Anishma Anilkumar for their performances. For playing a humane police officer, director Ameer congratulated Vikram Prabhu for his performance.
CE's review for the film read, "Sirai is an important documentation of how it doesn't take much to be a victim of systemic violence, and how it doesn't take much to be a harbinger of change, either."
