At a recent event for Behindwoods TV, Vijay talked about collaborating with Vetri Maaran on the film. The actor said that he does not know much about his character in the film. "Vetri sir told me that he is thinking about me while writing it, and I told him that I feel happy to know that I occupy his thoughts," Vijay said. With Arasan, the actor reunites with Vetri Maaran after the Viduthalai films. Vijay said that he is familiar with Vetri Maaran's filmography. "He is such a great writer and director. His intelligence and care are very deep. I have learnt a lot from him," the actor said.
Vijay Sethupathi also spoke highly of his Train director Mysskin. "When you can a learn a lot from someone just by talking to them, you can learn a lot of subconscious learning while working with them. I will mention Mysskin sir as part of such filmmakers," the actor added. Vijay added that he agreed to do the project, also starring Narain and Shruti Haasan, without listening to the story. "He asked me if I would be able to come, and I said 'yes' to it," the actor revealed while talking about his conversation with Mysskin about Train.
