Actor Suriya teamed up with filmmaker RJ Balaji for his 45th film, Karuppu. The makers have unveiled two songs and a teaser from the film so far.
The latest update is that the film's satellite rights have been bagged by Zee Tamil. The update was shared in a reality show on the channel, in which the film's composer, Sai Abhyankkar, took part.
Directed by RJ Balaji, the film features Trisha as the female lead, reuniting her with her Aaru (2005) co-star Suriya. The supporting cast includes Yogi Babu, acclaimed Malayalam actor Indrans, Sshivada, Lubber Pandhu fame Swasika, Natty, Supreeth Reddy, and Anagha Maya Ravi.
Karuppu's technical crew also features cinematography by GK Vishnu, editing by Kalaivanan, art direction by Arun Venjaramoodu, and stunt choreography by Vikram Mor. The project also marks a reunion for Suriya with his NGK producers, as well as RJ Balaji with his Sorgavaasal makers — SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu of Dream Warrior Pictures.
Suriya, meanwhile, is working on his next with Venky Atluri, Suriya 46, and he has commenced filmming for his 47th film, directed by Aavesham filmmaker Jithu Madhavan. The film also stars Nazriya Fahadh and Naslen. Karuppu is yet to get a release date.
