Actor Karthi, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Vaa Vaathiyaar, in the pre-release event of the film heaped praises on late actor and chief minister MG Ramachandran.
In the film, Karthi plays an ardent devotee of the yesteryear superstar. In his speech, he said MGR's life exemplified his song's lyrics—'Vaazhndhaalum Maraindhaalum Per Solla Vendum, Ivan Pola Yaar Endru Oor Solla Vendum.' He elaborated, saying that MGR became such a "tall and selfless leader that, like his song, his name is being taken even after his demise and is unmatched. True to the song, the automated voice announcement system in the Central Railway station, named after MGR, takes his name at least 5,000 times a day."
Billed as an action-comedy entertainer, Vaa Vaathiyaar marks the first collaboration between Karthi and Nalan. The film, which features Krithi Shetty in the lead role, also stars Rajkiran, Sathyaraj, Anandaraj, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Shilpa Manjunath, and Ramesh Thilak in pivotal roles.
Produced by KE Gnanavel Raja of the Studio Green banner, Vaa Vaathiyaar's technical crew comprises cinematographer George C Williams, editor Vetre Krishnan, music composer Santhosh Narayanan, and art director DRK Kiran.
The film is getting released in theatres on December 12.
