The Madharaasi audio and trailer launch took place at Sai Ram College, Chennai on August 24. The film's lead Sivakarthikeyan, director AR Murugadoss, female lead Rukmini Vasanth, and music composer Anirudh Ravichander were present, amongst the rest of the cast and crew. At the launch, Sivakarthikeyan spoke for nearly 30 minutes on topics ranging from the famous scene from Vijay's GOAT, and how far his career has come. Here are 4 things Sivakarthikeyan said at the Madharaasi audio launch:

1. On stars and their fanbase

"Even after Jana Nayagan, when Vijay sir announced his political entry, his fans immediately turned into political workers and stood with him. On the other hand, even when Ajith sir simply goes for a car race, he still draws massive crowds — this, despite disbanding his fan club years ago. Kamal sir, the all-rounder, has fans who stand by him through wins and losses. And Superstar Rajinikanth has sustained his stardom for 50 years only because of his strong fan base."

2. On receiving the gun in GOAT scene

"Many people are praising the scene in GOAT where Vijay sir gave me a gun. At the same time, it has sparked trolls and discussions. Some criticised that I am being projected as the ‘next Thalapathy’ — ‘Kutty Thalapathy’, ‘Thideer Thalapathy’ and so on. But if I had ever tried to do such things, Vijay sir wouldn’t have handed me that gun in the first place, and I wouldn’t have accepted it either. For me, he is always just ‘Anna’ and I'm always just his 'Thambi'. That moment is nothing but a good experience for me."

3. On his early ambition

“I acted in Maan Karate, produced by AR Murugadoss sir. At its audio launch, both Murugadoss sir and Shankar sir were present as chief guests. That day, I said I would one day act in their direction and that I would work hard and grow until that happened. Back then, it was only hope. People laughed and teased me after a couple of my films became hits, asking when Murugadoss sir’s film would happen. But I kept running with your applause as my fuel. Today, as I wished, I am here as the hero of Murugadoss sir’s direction in Madharaasi.”

4. On working with Anirudh

“Ani and I are more than just friends. We’ve done eight films together and many promo videos. He has achieved big things — even a ₹1,000 crore film with Shah Rukh Khan, sir. I once told him that with Ethirneechal, he took my songs to international audiences. He replied, saying that I took his songs deep into the B and C centres.”

“Like everyone, I too asked Ani about marriage. Married people usually get calls from their wives at 8 pm asking where they are. But that’s the time Ani wakes up! So I thought, for him, it’s either marriage or hit songs. And I chose hit songs.”
